DAY 1

Evening flight to Rome on Air Canada.

Day 2 - ARRIVE IN ROME

​On arrival in Rome, we'll transfer to our hotel. After time to settle in, we'll head to a nearby restaurant for a welcome dinner of local specialities.

Day 3 - ROME

​After breakfast we're going to head out to explore the amazing city of Rome on both a panoramic and a walking tour. The incredible sights we'll see include the wonderfully preserved Pantheon, the ornate 17th century Trevi Fountain, the impressive Spanish Steps and one of the city's most characteristic Baroque squares, Piazza Navona. 

This afternoon why not join an optional 'skip the line' visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.

DAY 4 - SIENA & SAN GIMIGNANO

​Today we're going to make our way to Tuscany, with a stop en route in Siena, one of the most perfectly preserved medieval cities in Europe. On a guided tour we'll stroll narrow streets lined with palaces and mansions which lead to the spectacular Piazza del Campo. After free time for lunch here we'll continue our journey. We'll stop to stretch our legs in the beautiful hilltop town of San Gimignano, renowned for its many towers. Our final destination is Montecatini Terme, where we'll stay overnight and enjoy dinner at the hotel.

DAY 5 - CASTELLO DEL TREBBIO FOOD EXPERIENCE

​One of the main attractions of Tuscany is its cuisine, with dishes comprising fresh, locally sourced ingredients paired with excellent local wines. Today, we're heading to the Castello del Trebbio, an historic estate surrounded by a lush landscape of vineyards and olive groves. During a private cookery lesson here we'll learn all about traditional Tuscan cooking, and prepare some typical dishes ourselves, which we'll then eat for lunch. We'll also sample some of the region's fantastic wines.

DAY 6 - CINQUE TERRE (OPTIONAL)

Today is free for you to spend as you wish. Perhaps take a stroll into town or maybe treat yourself to a Spa treatment. Alternatively, you could head out with your travelling companions and take the cable car up to the hilltop medieval village of Montecatini Alto. The views from here are unmissable.​

Today we also offer an optional visit to the Fattoria Il Poggio with wine-tasting and a Tuscan traditional lunch.

Another option is an excursion to the Cinque Terre. This translates as 'Five Lands' and refers to the five villages which perch precariously on the cliffs high above the Mediterranean Sea and are inaccessible by road. We'll discover two of them on our day out.

DAY 7 - FLORENCE & WINE EXPERIENCE

​Celebrated as the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is where we head today. We'll stroll across Ponte Vecchio, see the magnificent Duomo and admire glorious architecture among the Renaissance streets and piazzas on a guided tour of its compact centre. 

Next, we'll head to the magnificent Torre a Cona wine estate, dominated by a monumental 18th century villa belonging to Count Rossi di Montelera. We'll enjoy a tour of its historical cellars and sample four of the fine wines produced here, which will be accompanied by pecorino cheese with honey, cured ham and bruschetta.

DAY 8 - PISA & LUCCA (OPTIONAL)

Today has been left free for you to enjoy as you wish. If you'd like to discover more of Italy's famous landmarks, why not join our optional excursion, which begins in Pisa. Here we'll have a guided tour of the Field of Miracles, which is home to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Next, we head to Lucca, an historic town which is located at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is surrounded by impressive walls. During free time, why not stroll around its ancient ramparts.

This evening you can opt to watch a performance of opera at the Montecatini Opera Festival, which is recognised as one of the best events of its kind in Italy.

DAY 9 - ORVIETO & ROME

​We're going to make our way back to Rome today, and we'll break up our journey with a stop at the beautiful medieval town of Orvieto, which is reached by funicular railway.

DAY 10 - DEPARTURE DAY

​Today we'll transfer to the airport in Rome for our flight back home.
